Newborn 6 weeks-check-up
Upon your discharge from the hospital, your baby will require a comprehensive physical examination at 6 weeks. You may choose to visit one of the paediatrician at Monash Obstetrics Kids or consult your GP for this appointment, although a review by the paediatrician will be necessary if investigations were conducted or if your baby was admitted to the Special Care Nursery.
If your baby was attended to by one of the paediatricians from Monash Obstetrics Kids during your hospital stay and you would like to schedule a 6-week check-up appointment, please complete this form. We will promptly contact you with the appointment details.
The referral made by your obstetrician to the paediatrician who attended your baby in the hospital is valid until your baby is 3 months old. If further visits are required after your baby is 3 months old, you will need to obtain a referral from your GP.
If your baby was not previously seen by a pediatrician from Monash Obstetrics Kids but you would like to schedule a newborn check-up with them, please obtain a referral from your GP and contact us via email or phone to make an appointment.
